What is the Keto Diet Plan?

The keto diet is simply a high-protein, adequate-carbohydrates, low-fat diet which in medical practice is used primarily to control seizures in children who are diagnosed with epilepsy. The diet pushes the body to burn fat rather than glucose. The idea behind the Keto Diet Plan is that when you reduce your carbohydrate intake, you reduce your reliance on sugar and carbs which in turn reduce the amount of fat your body requires to fuel your muscles.

This Ketosis Diet Plan is not the same as a low carb diet. The Ketosis Diet Plan promotes a very healthy and balanced diet that will help your body function as it should be. Although it is possible to have a keto diet and still lose weight, there are many other factors that come into play. A low carb diet does not mean you can't lose weight and even with a keto diet, you can have lean body weight and healthy-looking skin, hair, and nails.

As a rule of thumb, eat a lot of vegetables, lean protein, and low-calorie foods. Your calorie intake will increase gradually but your body will burn calories while burning fat to make up the difference.

When you start a Ketosis Diet Plan, your doctor will provide you with a food diary for a week. He or she will also monitor your blood sugar level. If you have diabetes, your doctor will likely want to check your blood sugar level prior to the diet. Remember that this diet plan is not meant to replace other medications. Your doctor may suggest another diet plan to help control your condition if the Ketosis Diet Plan doesn't work.

Healthy living means taking care of yourself. When you first start your diet you will need to make sure that your body stays in good health. You will not be able to exercise as much as you would like on your first day of this new regime. If you are already exercising then your doctor may recommend that you begin a new exercise routine to make sure your body stays in good health.
